TCIA Accreditation

TCIA

Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA)

Think of the Better Business Bureau – for tree companies. TCIA is an international trade association dedicated to the development of expertise, safety, and protocol in the tree care industry. TCIA members who are not accredited receive access to educational resources, but are not required to implement the recommended procedures and standards.

What is TCIA Accreditation?

In order to become TCIA Accredited, a company must pass over 80 points of inspection that prove it has implemented top-notch procedures across the board. Accreditation requires that staff remain up-to-date in the latest technique and safety advancements, and adhere to the highest industry standards in every area of operation. Of the approximately 20,000 tree service companies in the United States, only 200 hold accreditation status. That's 1%. When you hire a TCIA Accredited company, you can have confidence that the team has Certified Arborists on staff, is properly insured, and has earned their place in the top 1%.

ISA Utility Specialist

ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist®

What is an ISA Utility Specialist? A Utility Specialist has already received Arborist Certification, and has extensive experience in utility vegetation management. The written exam requires a thorough understanding of all electrical information and risks associated with tree work in a utility setting, as well as program management and oversight. With the universal need for reliable energy and electricity, it is imperative that utility firms hire trained Utility Specialists to safely manage vegetation near electrical sources.

CTSP

Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP)

What is a Certified Treecare Safety Professional? An individual achieves CTSP status by receiving advanced conceptual and hands-on and training in industry safety practices, as established by TCIA. CTSP staff members play a vital leadership in their company, enforcing standards and leading by example.
